A home streak record within reach

Texas Tech's 34-26 win over then-No. 22 Arizona last Saturday was its 13th straight home victory, tying a school record set from 1939 to 1942. A win tonight would set a new mark. The Red Raiders are 27-5 at home under head coach Joey McGuire, according to Texas Tech Athletics.

Texas Tech is No. 13 in the Associated Press poll and was No. 15 in the first College Football Playoff rankings released this week. It is the program's 27th straight week in the AP poll, the longest run in school history.

The matchup to watch

West Virginia averages 261.6 rushing yards per game, while Texas Tech's defense allows 94.9. The Red Raiders held Arizona to 12 rushing yards and ran for a season-high 328 yards of their own, with J'Koby Williams and Thomas Castellanos each topping 100 yards.

Series history

Texas Tech leads the all-time series 8-7 and has won six of the last seven meetings, including a 49-0 win in Morgantown last season and a 52-15 win in Lubbock in 2024. McGuire is 3-1 against the Mountaineers.

Before you go

With a capacity crowd expected, Texas Tech asks fans to download digital tickets to their phones before arriving. Ticket holders who can't attend can use the school's Every Seat Counts program. Gate times and stadium policies are in the Texas Tech Gameday Guide.
