The Lubbock Chronicle calculated turnout percentages from the county's vote and registration figures.

Most voters went early

About 80% of this year's votes were cast during the 12 days of early voting. The 20,148 Election Day votes were fewer than the 23,679 in 2022 and slightly more than the 19,652 in 2018.

The county reported 19,935 Election Day voters shortly after polls closed at 7 p.m., with people still in line. Voters in line at closing time could cast ballots. By about 8:30 p.m., the elections office said one location, at Texas Tech, still had a few voters. The 20,148 figure came in the office's report at about 9 p.m.
