Bowling, bumper cars and an arcade with more than 100 games are coming to South Plains Mall. Premiere Cinemas and the mall announced plans on October 30 for a 45,000-square-foot entertainment expansion called Premiere PLUS, with an opening targeted for summer 2027.
The new attractions will join the existing 16-screen Premiere Cinemas + IMAX complex at 6002 Slide Road. The companies say the combined movie and entertainment footprint will exceed 110,000 square feet.
What Premiere PLUS plans to offer
Bowling: 16 lanes.
Games: More than 100 arcade games, bumper-car arenas and a 7-D cinema experience.
Families: A 2,000-square-foot children's play area, party rooms and a prize-redemption center.
Food: Two cafes called Pizza Pub and Burger & Soda Fountain.
Gary Moore, CEO of Premiere Cinemas, described the project as an investment in family entertainment in West Texas. Premiere says the expansion will give moviegoers more reasons to visit beyond a film screening.
When will it open?
The companies are targeting summer 2027. They have not announced a specific opening day, admission prices or hours for the new attractions. The existing Lubbock cinema opened in 2012 and later added recliner seating and laser projection, according to the mall's announcement.
