Power out? Start with the utility that maintains your area's electric lines, and stay clear of any downed wires.

This Lubbock Chronicle resource brings together official outage reporting and information for Lubbock and nearby South Plains communities. It does not display live outage counts or independently estimate restoration times.

Lubbock Power & Light (LP&L)

LP&L maintains the electric delivery system in its service area, even when a customer buys electricity from a retail provider.

Safety First

Assume every downed power line is energized. Stay away from wires, nearby puddles, fences and vehicles that may be in contact with a line. Call 911 for life-threatening emergencies. Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed when possible. If traffic lights are dark, approach intersections carefully and follow applicable traffic rules.
