More than 47,000 Lubbock County voters have cast early ballots after the first seven days. County Elections Administrator Troy Havard reports 2,622 votes on Sunday, October 25, bringing the total to 47,019. The tally is ahead of the comparable seven-day totals in both 2018 and 2022, but it does not show which candidates voters supported.

Seven days of early voting

  • Monday, Oct. 19: 8,852

  • Tuesday, Oct. 20: 8,638

  • Wednesday, Oct. 21: 7,898

  • Thursday, Oct. 22: 7,285

  • Friday, Oct. 23: 7,154

  • Saturday, Oct. 24: 4,570

  • Sunday, Oct. 25: 2,622

  • Seven-day total: 47,019

How turnout compares

In 2018, the first seven days brought 42,694 early votes; in 2022, they brought 31,706. The 2026 count is 4,325 above 2018 (10.1%) and 15,313 above 2022 (48.3%). Lubbock County reports 204,576 registered voters in 2026, making the seven-day total approximately 23.0% of the registration count. Because the number of registered voters has changed between elections, these are raw-count comparisons, not proof of increased participation rates or candidate support.

Final week of early voting

Early voting continues Monday through Friday, October 26–30, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 21 designated Lubbock County locations. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.

What voting-history data can and cannot tell us

The county's Sunday report supplies daily turnout and historical election comparisons, not an updated Republican-history, Democratic-history, swing or new-voter classification. The Chronicle's earlier two-day classification covered 17,493 voter records, while the county's official two-day turnout comparison counted 17,490. These different data series should not be merged.
