1. Texas Tech rises to No. 11 after 29-7 win at Colorado

Texas Tech moved up to No. 11 in the AP poll and No. 9 in the U.S. LBM Coaches Poll after Saturday's 29-7 road win over Colorado. The Red Raiders are 5-0 for the second straight season and enter their open week before hosting Arizona State on October 17.

2. 72nd Street closure begins today

72nd Street between Kewanee Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue closes today for Atmos Energy gas-line work. The project is scheduled through October 14, weather permitting. Drivers should use alternate routes and allow extra travel time.

3. Blue Bell tour makes two Lubbock stops today
