Afternoon Developments
1. Weather postpones Texas Tech baseball exhibition until Monday
Texas Tech Athletics announced Wednesday that Thursday's fall exhibition against Weatherford College has been moved to Monday, October 19, because of expected bad weather. The game is free and open to the public, with first pitch at 3 p.m., according to the university's published article. Two free Oklahoma exhibitions remain scheduled for October 24 and 25.
2. Sagmor Vineyard to receive Texas Historical Marker Friday
The Lubbock County Historical Commission announced it will dedicate a marker honoring pioneering Sagmor Vineyard Friday, October 16, at 6 p.m. at McPherson Cellars, 1615 Texas Ave. Clinton “Doc” McPherson planted the first experimental vines in 1969, helping establish the Texas High Plains as a wine-growing region. The public is invited.

3. Tech volleyball heads to TCU and Houston this weekend
Texas Tech volleyball (8-9, 0-5 Big 12) travels to No. 10 TCU on Friday, October 16, then Houston on Sunday, October 18. Friday's match starts at 6:30 p.m. Central; Sunday's starts at 1 p.m. Tech is looking to rebound from consecutive straight-set losses.

Damaging wind, hail, isolated tornadoes and heavy rainfall are possible. A flood watch for Hall, Childress, Motley and Cottle counties extends through 1 a.m. Thursday, October 15. Check active warnings before driving; never enter flooded roadways.
